Inspiration

I'm super lazy to cook, seriously! And trying to make a meal with only a few random ingredients always felt impossible. That's really how Pic2Meal started. Plus, I'm just too lazy to sit and watch long cooking videos. I wanted something really handy, something easy to just flick through recipes.

What it does

You snap a pic of your ingredients, and it figures out what they are. Then, boom! It gives you a recipe, and you can even pick if you want, like, Italian or Indian food.

How we built it

I used Bolt and Expo. So it works on your phone and also on a computer, which is cool.

Challenges we ran into

The hardest part was definitely teaching it to recognize all the ingredients properly from a picture. It was an awesome experience to fetch almost ingredients with 90% accuracy!!!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting the ingredients identified super accurately and making the recipes really easy to follow – that felt like a big win.

What we learned

learned a ton about AI technology, more than I ever expected! Also how to buidl cool apps :)

What's next for Pic2Meal

Next up, we're putting it on the App Store and Play Store. And then just keeping it updated with cool, user-friendly stuff, maybe some subscription options later.
