Inspiration
I am a rookie piano keyboard player. I have noticed people using apps to get the colours lights for their piano notes, which makes playing a piano more interesting. from there I got the idea to build a hardware project using Arduino to glow lights of corresponding keys when played on an midi keyboard
What it does
It takes midi signals of the respective keys from the keyboard and send it to Arduino, which in turn interprets the signals and glows the corresponding led.
How we built it
I used a arudino Uno, along with obv Arduino IDE and Processing (Java). I connected less and Arduino using breadboard and jumpers. and the Arduino and midi cable was connected to my laptop
Challenges we ran into
there was hardly any midi library for the project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I have never seen any such project ever. or at least this is the first time someone made it in my country.
What we learned
I learned about the MIDI library for processing. and I also learned about the midi signals of each note
What's next for PIANO LIGHTS
I would want to add led strips instead of single leds which would make the look more professional
