I forgot to mention in the video I said start to start the game using speech recognition
Inspiration
I wanted to have an NES Power Glove so I made one and then I decided to add speech recognition to it. I also noticed that the NES Power Glove's design is pretty bad so I tried to improve it by placing the buttons where your fingers would be if you closed your fist.
What it does
It's able to be used as a controller to play your favourite NES games whilst using speech recognition for extra functions.
How we built it
I used a raspberry pi and attached buttons to it then I used python to make it as a HID device so that it could be used as a controller.
Challenges we ran into
Figuring out how to turn the raspberry pi into a HID device was really hard as I was worried I might mess up my whole pi in the process.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The fact that I can play games with it!
What we learned
Speech recognition and how HID devices work. And learning to sew the buttons but they're pretty badly sown.
What's next for Pi Power Glove
Probably to place the buttons in a nicer place.
