Inspiration

We wanted to capture that Twilight Zone feeling - the unsettling strangeness lurking beneath everyday life. The challenge was distilling PI Nightsky's surreal mystery into under 90 seconds while maintaining that off-kilter atmosphere where normal investigation reveals something deeply weird.

What it does

This teaser introduces PI Nightsky through fragments of her investigation into the disappearance of Starbler. Quick glimpses of worried families, strange clues, and late-night work build an atmosphere where the familiar feels wrong. The techno-organic city of Cluster 7B looks normal at first, but something's fundamentally off.

How we built it

We selected moments that feel slightly unsettling... conversations that don't quite add up, clues that suggest something bigger, the oppressive countdown to sunrise. Each cut happens before viewers can get comfortable, creating unease rather than traditional mystery tension. The pacing mirrors PI's growing realization that this case is stranger than it first appeared.

Challenges we ran into

Conveying "surreal mystery" in under 90 seconds without confusing viewers. We needed the teaser to feel intriguing rather than incomprehensible, establishing that something's wrong in Cluster 7B without explaining what. Every moment had to contribute to the atmosphere of wrongness.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We captured that X-Files/Twin Peaks quality where a missing persons case becomes something much stranger. The teaser feels complete despite raising more questions than answers, which is exactly what surreal mystery should do.

What we learned

Surreal marketing content works when you lean into discomfort rather than clarity. Viewers don't need everything explained - they need to feel that something's off and want to investigate further themselves.
