Inspiration

to bring small stuff back to big computing

What it does

raspberry pi 3 cluster. Distributed networking portable webserver. this is a single cluster of potentially millions.

How I built it

we assembled the hardware before arriving including custom led circuits and enclosures of wood and copper. the coding and configuaration was done hare and at home getting them all play nicely together was just as challenging as getting human to work together. difficult but not impossible.

Challenges I ran into

following in the footsteps of others can often lead to success. at time we found ourselves on unfamiliar ground and alone in the dark. we asked for help from those around us and the sponsors present. in the end it was we who had to persevere and find the solutions to our problems. the best part is when we solved problems and had not realized we had solved it for another10 minutes or so.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of.

The fact that the cluster is up and running and a possibility is amazing. but getting to meet the other competitors and see what people find interesting was the reason I attended and I think the best goal to have achieved.

What I learned

Working a team can bring motivation to the darkest time and relief to failure much better than sitting alone in a room and trying something difficult.

What's next for PI in the sky

we will build thousands of them and try to do what we do every night..."Try and take over the world"!
