Hackathon wifi is notoriously bad - it is often congested and slow, if it even works in the first place. While coding without a network connection is very easy, collaborating is not - Github requires an internet connection, for obvious reasons. That's why we created Pi Git. Using a Raspberry Bi masquerading as a router, users can connect to a WiFi network and experience all the wonder of git on a local git server. Push, pull, merge, you name it - it all works!
