Hi, I'm Ben a shipper from Thailand.

Inspiration

I’m a mobile developer and certified stretching instructor who has taught more than a hundred students. Through working with physiotherapists, I’ve seen small clinics struggle to afford AI scanning equipment costing $10,000 or more.

That got me thinking about what I could build with a phone. I narrowed the idea down to what mattered most for therapists and their patients, then pushed what a smartphone camera could do. That’s how PhysioAI started: a way to make posture and movement assessments more accessible and help patients continue their training at home.

What it does

PhysioAI turns posture and movement scans into personalized rehab plans and guided home training using a smartphone camera.

It helps physiotherapists review assessments, plan exercises, and track progress with their patients. At home, patients have guidance on what to practice before their next visit.

How we built it

We built the app with Flutter, Google ML Kit for pose detection, and Firebase. My teaching experience shaped the exercise instructions, while input from physiotherapists helped us make the assessment flow practical and research-backed.

We also adapted the layout for Galaxy Flip and Fold devices to make scanning and training easier.

Challenges we ran into

Small changes in camera position or how someone stands can affect measurements. We worked on clearer capture instructions and filtering noisy movement data.

Explaining the results was another challenge. They needed to make sense to patients and be useful for therapists reviewing them.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We brought scanning, exercise planning, and home training into one app. We also compared PhysioAI’s suggestions with physiotherapist screening across 76 samples to understand where it agreed and where it needed improvement.

For me, it’s rewarding to see something I built connect with the work I do as an instructor.

What we learned

Clear instructions matter as much as the technology. People need to know how to capture a scan and what to do with the result.

Working with physiotherapists has also helped us keep improving around real patient care, with their judgment remaining central.

What's next for PhysioAI: Turn Your Galaxy into an AI Rehab Tool

We’ll keep working with physiotherapists to validate and improve assessments, add more movement tests, and make home training easier to follow.

I want PhysioAI to become a useful part of how therapists support their patients, including the time between appointments.
