Inspiration
Physics concepts can be difficult to picture from a formula or a static diagram. We wanted students to change parameters and see how a system responds.
What it does
Physics Visualizer is a desktop learning application with interactive demonstrations covering motion, forces, energy, momentum, waves and other topics. An optional AI whiteboard tutor can review student drawings and support questions about diagrams.
How we built it
We developed the project collaboratively with AI assistance, using Python and Tkinter. The optional whiteboard tutor uses Google Gemini. I contributed as a team member.
Challenges we ran into
The demonstrations needed to make the relationships between controls, diagrams and changing values easy to understand. The tutor also needed to complement exploration rather than make the visualizations dependent on an AI service.
Accomplishments we're proud of
The application brings interactive demonstrations and optional diagram-based questions together. Its core visualizations can run locally without an AI API key.
What I learned
Letting someone change a value and see its effect can make an idea more approachable. Good explanations and responsive controls matter as much as the list of topics covered.
What's next
Refine the controls and explanations, test more examples and improve how the tutor supports learning.
