People often have a large collection of photos but only need a small number of related images (i.e. pictures of your dog, of last year's Christmas party, etc.) or they want to just pick out the best ones. This app uses machine learning algorithms to categorise and find such photographs quickly, eliminating the chore of flipping through thousands of files yourself. It'll make anyone's life a little easier, whether they're a professional photographer or simply a dedicated smartphone user.
Within this hackathon we managed to implement people recognition - other categories pending include finding best/most representative photos, sorting by location, date/time, and grouping everything by pictorial similarity. These categories can be combined and customised as well.
