Inspiration

Simple. Creating the chatGPT for image editing. No, not the chat-based interface, but the moment, when one of humanity’s most advanced technology meets the perfect packaging. So simple, so powerful. Our team has designed and developed three photo editor apps over the past 10 years, and we've learned something crucial: there are no successful photo editors without tutorials. Our goal is to create the first one that doesn't need them—and the last one you'll ever need.

What it does

Everything—well, everything when it comes to image editing. You simply show and tell your instructions. Select any part of your image and ask for what you want. Transform closed eyes into open ones. Add a puppy to your hand. Create rain. Insert text. Turn your image into a birthday card. Really, ask for anything you can imagine. It's both remarkable and delightfully surreal.

How we built it

After selling our flagship product in January, three members of our previous team stayed together for experimental sessions. We had explored this concept several times before and gathered valuable user feedback on features we'd already built. But we were missing something crucial: the perfect model. There has been tremendous progress in AI development since the first Stable Diffusion model emerged, and we tested all the significant ones. Each iteration improved, but none quite fit every purpose—until now. Here we are today with an exceptionally powerful model and a polished UI, accessible to anyone with a smartphone.

Challenges we ran into

This is the first time we used Flutter and RevenueCat, we had to understand those technologies to effectively work with them, this took some time. And there are always a ton of work with releasing an app into the App Store. Eg. right now I am writing these lines while on my holiday in Naples. In the last 18 hours of the competition. And the app is still under review. Will we even able to apply in time? 😀

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our current founder team works together since 2016. We bootstrapped out business. One of our apps became the App of Google Play in 2018. We already made two successful exits.

What we learned

We launched our first app 7 years ago. None of us has beed married and had kids, and it felt just so natural and enjoyable to work on a photo animator app. Now, all of us married, all of us with kids, available the fraction of the time, we still fucking enjoy this.

What's next for PHOTOGOAT AI — the last photo editor you’ll ever need

Let’s see how the app performs, but there are still a few projects we are working on currently.
