Inspiration
Photo Wrapped is inspired by the infamous Spotify Wrapped. We combined Spotify wrapped plus our interest in photography in order to create this project.
What it does
Photo Wrapped takes in a folder of images. It then sorts the images by different categories such as time, date, and season. It will return a summary of all your photos such as the season you took the most photos in. It will also create a collage for each category of the top 4 photos of that category. In the end, the output will be a pdf that you can go through.
How we built it
We used python to build the program, and mostly using the pillow (PIL) library. PIL was used to create the collages and generate the final pdf. We also used libraries such as geopy and exiftool.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into some merge conflicts because we forgot to pull. Some other issues we ran into were file paths and packages not installing, overall just pathway issues.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Getting it to work in the end and actually generating a lookable pdf.
What we learned
Teamwork is very important as well as communication in making the whole process more smooth.
What's next for Photo Wrapped
Letting the program become more compatible with photos from your phone or photos of different sizes.
