Inspiration

Across countries, small and medium sized business are the core of the economy, employ anywhere from 50% to 80% of the workforce and in the EU they contribute about 56% of annual turnover. Covid has impacted these business the most and continued disruptions will have far ranging impact across the economy and its people including their ability to fund the healthcare sector, keep a young and active population employed and engaged, fund essential services, security services etc.

What it does

The platform that I have envisaged is based on how consulting firms build solutions for larger corporate clients. However, smaller firms do not have the scale to deploy these solutions nor have the resources to either pay for such services or deploy the solutions once they are built. The idea is to have a small group of consultants (Solvers) work on small and immediate problems - those that can be solved in a span of 3 weeks (can vary with more information on the problem statements). The platform learns as each issue is posted by the Business Owner. Solvers develop the issue further by providing descriptions, hypotheses and attributes to the Issue. These once confirmed by the BO gets attached (like a post-it) to the Issue. Stage II - Solvers have more detailed discussions and either add more information or remove certain hypotheses that were incorrect. Stage III - is the actual implementation of the solution, connecting with government databases for skills, using social media to get immediate skills, helping plan cash flow etc.

How I built it

I have now just built the concept.

Challenges I ran into

Focusing on a certain category or set of issues to begin with and then broaden the scope.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Participated in Hack for Sweden and got great feedback from mentors including heads of Innovation from large banks and automotive companies.

What I learned

I need to focus on a few problems, visually represent the platform and how it works, add financial data on the size of the problem, impact that can be created (with a revenue or profitability number)

What's next for Phoenix - AI driven problem solving platform for businesses

The big picture is to have enough information to have the AI engine to become the 1st responder. Connect to enough government and local information resources that are as of now in silo's. e.g. information about skills and vacancies at local employment agencies, In its best possible version, Phoenix will have the ability to provide enough information to government and local agencies on how macro economic factors impact specific groups of companies or types of industries. This can help develop policy playbooks for each sector and plan ahead of time in case of future epidemics.
