[49] - Phobos Forecast

Inspiration

I've always been interested in space for a long time, I love hearing news about it, and I hope to that I can contribute to people going to the Moon again and eventually Mars. I think that giving the weather with a nice twist would be a cool way for people to feel attached to space.

What it does

This app is meant to tell the weather of both your current location and the weather on Mars at the Insight Rover.

How we built it

I built it using Flutter and NASA's open APIs.

Challenges we ran into

Learning Flutter to a usable degree.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Actually completing it! I didn't think I'd be able to finish the project. Reaching the finish line and learning Flutter while doing it feels amazing.

What we learned

The Flutter SDK and mobile development fundamentals.

What's next for Phobos Forecast

Adding a headless CMS (if I can) and making a Jamstack web app that provides daily space news.
