Inspiration

This project was inspired by the increasing rate of students who drop out of school prematurely due to lack of tuition. It was named after Phiona Mutesi, a Ugandan who dropped out of school and later became a chess champion which helped her get a scholarship to study in USA

What it does

Basically, a student has to own a skill which he can put to use in the various competitions and hackathons that are provided by sponsors of the project. The student can then compete to win and earn his tuition rather than drop out of school

How we built it

I used a web app builder website called bolt and applied prompts from other AI models that helped me get exactly what I needed

Challenges we ran into

I had a challenge of time, because the project I anticipated was complex and required over 20 hours of continuous adjustment but though, I managed to complete it in time

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that I have been able to participate in this hackathon to implement ideas that can have a real world impact to not only students but the whole society's well being

What we learned

I learned how to make effective prompts and use AI tools to not exhaust or exploit them but collaborate with their functionalities to achieve my goals

What's next for Phiona Student Tuition fundraising web app

I wish this idea gets approved and gets scaled to reach each and every student in every institution out there and save hundreds from dropping out of school.
