Inspiration
Medication cost has been constantly increasing, and is becoming unaffordable to patients even after their insurance is applied. We heard multiple personal stories about this issue and decided to come up with an easy solution to this issue.
What it does
pHinder is a mobile application that allows users to find the optimal medication option. It gathers information about the user like their location, their insurance coverage, and what medication they need. It then provides the users with the most affordable options available around their neighborhood.
How we built it
We first brainstormed and planned out the idea. We then created the UI prototype for this project using figma. Then we worked on completely building the app through React, HTML, CSS, JS, and Java.
Challenges we ran into
The most difficult challenge that we ran into was using React since none of us knew how to use it. But we tackled the issue by watching multiple videos, tutorials, and looking at example code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
What we learned
We learned a lot about working together as a team and new technologies like figma and React.
What's next for pHinder
We have developed the app but it is not completely done yet, and the next step is complete and build the app with all the functionalities we planned and also adding new features as we come up with them.
