Inspiration
When brainstorming Ideas, we each had separate thoughts. Max thought of computer vision and its possible use for the elderly, while Jakob and Isaiah we're wanting to develop an app to store and share memories with friends as we all are soon to graduate. In the end, we decided to combine the two ideas to make a memory saving app that you can navigate without touching the computer.
What it does
Our application stores and shares precious memories for you with a minimalist design.
How we built it
We all used GitHub with our own separate IDEs and different tasks. Max focused on the computer vision and hand tracking, Jakob worked on the front end UI, and Isaiah worked on the polishing and connection.
Challenges we ran into
- The gestures being too similar to one another. Doing an action we didn't want.
- The gestures being finicky in general.
- Adding images to posts
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Having a working app
- Using hand tracking for the first time
- Learning UI design
- Familiarizing ourselves with the GitHub pipeline
What we learned
- Love conquers all
- Quality in computer laptop cameras created a difference in performance amongst the computers
What's next for Phase
- Saving progress
- Turning it into a (mobile) app and not just a website
- Hosting the app in the cloud
- Creating user profiles (maybe with face recognition)
