Inspiration As we were planning events for our community, EPIC SLO, we found it to be stressful to figure out logistics -- from planning the event to coordinating rides. We were using various platforms such as Facebook, Google Forms, and Spreadsheets and were inspired to create a platform that combined all these features into one application.
What we learned Throughout this experience, we learned how to use Adobe XD, HTML/CSS, and what a hackathon entails. In addition, we learned how to work better as a team by utilizing everyone's strengths and talents.
How we built Half of our team worked on the code and used Java while the other half worked on the design/marketing aspect of our project.
Challenges One of the challenges we faced was our lack of experience and not knowing what to expect. Although there were 12 hours, simultaneously learning new skills and utilizing ones we already knew was difficult to navigate. Lastly, the coding language barrier between Java and the design aspect of app building made it a lot to more diffcult to execute the idea identically.
