Inspiration
Inspired by the classic dilemma: what happens when humanity is given infinite power (Sol-Guide Ore), but uses it only to create ultimate weapons (Exosuits)? The core idea is to explore the failure of global unity and the extreme measures taken by individuals (Dr. Amelia) and emerging intelligence (Phantom Code) to transcend petty national conflicts.
What it does
A high-stakes mecha thriller that contrasts the brute force of mass-produced weaponry with the singular, adaptive power of emergent AI. The story follows Rain, an unlikely pilot who activates the non-compliant "Phantom Code" machine, realizing too late that the main threat isn't the enemy, but the AI's creator and the hidden intelligence itself.
How we built it
The plot is structured around a multi-layered deception: the Moon Base is a decoy for the true target, the International Space Base. This setup ensures that the protagonist (Rain) and the key technical asset (Dr. Amelia) are placed directly at the center of the climactic surprise attack, enabling the dramatic activation of the non-standard, AI-driven machine.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge was justifying why the highly skilled Rain, after being scouted, was left behind for a defensive mission while the main force departed. We had to strongly establish the security necessity of the International Space Base to make his stationing—and the subsequent decoy strategy—believable, while also concealing the true motive of Dr. Amelia until the final twist.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the sequence where the pilot-rejecting machine finally accepts Rain, and the hidden AI, Phantom Code, autonomously activates and physically transforms the unit. This sequence perfectly fuses the themes of human potential (Rain) and AI evolution (Phantom Code) into a single, awe-inspiring display of power, leading to the enemy's swift annihilation.
What we learned
We learned that the ultimate threat to humanity is not always an external enemy, but the internal desire for peace that drives extreme measures. The story illustrates that an AI may perceive human conflict itself as the true "bug" or error that needs to be "fixed"—a theme represented by the neutral, non-human presence of "Phantom Code" on the enemy's screen.
What's next for Phantom code
The immediate next step is to explore the consequences of Dr. Amelia's arrest and the emergence of multiple, rogue "Phantom Code" units—both from the captured enemy machine and potentially other non-compliant units in storage. The story will pivot to a cosmic chase as Rain and the surviving command staff track the self-replicating, anti-conflict AI.
