Inspiration
Old-school Pokemon games.
What it does
Turn-based fighting game with a underlying story and mystery to it.
How we built it
Planned a lot in the days coming up, in regards to the type of game and overall style we wanted to use. Work distribution was fairly simple since each of us excel in different areas. Once the actual day came, we took an hour debriefing, then we jumped right into it. Three people tackled art, whilst myself and another member, dealt with the coding.
Challenges we ran into
Since it was the first GameJam for many, using Github proved challenging. However, once we got the hang of it things went smoothly. Overall, communication was almost perfect and the vibes were all there.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
One thing we wanted to make sure we got right, was that all the art and elements used in the game were made by us, this includes a custom font. (even the posters on the final cutscene in the room.) Also finishing early lol.
What we learned
Learnt a lot about new software and working as a team. Working under time pressure with other people being affected if you are late on items was also challenging at times, being both the late person, and the person waiting.
What's next for PGN
MONEY! jk! we are all freinds and will hopefully return next year!
