Inspiration
Our parents are far away and are getting old. Checking in on the frequently can be annoying to our parents. We
wanted a way to get information from them without pestering them unnecessarily .
What it does
PG-54 receives information from various sensors that are interfaced with household items that are frequently used.
It charts and graphs the information received on a local computer and on the cloud. This allows outsides users, such
as loved ones to access the information and compare it to normal, habitual data and gives them an accurate guess
about the well-being of the PG-54 user.
How we built it
Based on our parents normal behavior and interaction with things around the household. The most common items
were interfaced with appropriate sensors to give information on their usage. Abnormally low usage is a red flag.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we encountered was charting the data in excel from arduino serial monitor and auto saving the
data to google sheets.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud about completing a project at a hackathon for the first time.
What's next for PG-54
Our next steps include introducing machine learning to decipher patterns based on item usage. We also want to
introduce email alerts when multiple red flags have been raised.
