Inspiration

As current college students, one of the main challenges we face is managing our daily tasks. As assignments keep piling on and as daily chores go uncompleted, we knew we needed a centralized platform to organize our tasks for each day. Therefore, we decided to create Petr’s Planit, an online website where students can create their own daily TODO lists.

What it does

Once users enter Petr’s Planit, they may begin by viewing their tasks for the week, add in any new activities, and delete the duties completed. With our virtual online planner, we also ensure that no paper is wasted.

How we built it

We began this journey with an idea. An idea that sparked additional elements to be added to make our website function similarly to a TODO list/planner. We split up our team of four into a frontend and backend to develop a cute and nice-looking website that functions with all the elements we wanted such as adding items to each day’s TODO list and deleting items completed.

Challenges we ran into

During our coding process, we did approach a few obstacles such as how to integrate adding and deleting items but we were able to learn how to integrate these aspects with the help from various mentors.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

As new hackers ourselves, we definitely became more familiar with HTML, CSS, Flask, and Jinja coding languages to use for our website. We also gained core skills through this hackathon experience such as persistence, collaboration, and determination.

What we learned

This project was a rollercoaster of a journey. One that definitely left all of us screaming at the top of our lungs when obstacles were met, in fear as the deadline time began approaching, and finally ecstatic when the final product was completed.
