Project Story: Your Furry Friend, Just a Message Away!
Inspiration
The Pet Chatbot E-Commerce Platform was inspired by my love for pets and the need for pet owners to easily access information and products. I realized many pet owners face challenges in finding reliable answers to their questions about pet care and suitable products. This realization motivated me to create a platform where users can interact with a virtual assistant that provides instant support and facilitates seamless orders.
What it does
The platform enables users to engage with a virtual assistant that answers pet-related queries, offers a variety of pet products, and allows for easy online ordering. It combines chatbot functionalities with e-commerce features to provide a holistic pet care experience.
How we built it
We built the project in several key stages:
- Chatbot Development: We developed a chatbot using the uAgents framework to handle user queries effectively.
- E-Commerce Integration: Firebase was integrated to manage product listings, user authentication, and order processing.
- User Interface: A responsive front-end was created using Flutter to enhance user interaction.
- API Development: Flask were set up to facilitate communication between the front-end and back-end services.
Challenges we ran into
Throughout the development process, we faced several challenges:
- Technical Issues: Debugging the chatbot’s logic and ensuring consistent responses were challenging at times.
- Integration Complexity: Merging the chatbot functionalities with e-commerce features required careful planning and execution.
- User Testing: Gathering user feedback and iterating on the design proved essential for improving the overall user experience.
