Inspiration
Every time my mother lost a pet it was as if a big part of her was lost too.
Pet Cemetery if for grieving pet owners like my mother, who people say "Was a dog's best friend".
It was true.
What it does
Presents a carousel of pets, allows users to search for new pets to adopt via on-line searches to local pet shelters, and offers chats with others, and on-line conversation with an AI engine designed to listen, be comforting and supportive.
I version two you can't begin to imagine how nicely your deceased pets are going to live, like with jewelery and other virtual adornments, playgrounds, avatars, parties, real counseling, and more.
How we built it
100% Bolt AI with Supabase - except to prepare imaging.
Challenges we ran into
Keeping the AI from ignoring and re-creating what has already been created, and managing the dev cycle so that hallucinations and mistakes the AI makes does not destroy the project or overrun context space.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Graphical interface using AI and supabase for authentication, session management, and data, integration with Claude AI for grief conversations (awaiting approval from Anthropic to do this), integration with Petfinder API to find and link to new pets to adopt, features I did not have time to incorporate (memberships, pet adornments, pet products on fence signs, clouds with inspirational suggestions for grieving pet owners services, and pet owner services (counseling, funerals, etc...)
What we learned
After burning out on coding about 10 times, AI Coding is decent enough to fly by the crap, find the crap, tell me how to fix it or fit it itself (70% of the time).
Don't believe in native apps unless one has to harness more power of client devices because html/css/typescript can do it all, and with AI the pain of creating it all kind of disappears.
What's next for Pet Cemetery (for grieving pet owners)
Monetize the concept by: 1) pet product advertising signs will hang off the fence at the bottom of home page, 2) clouds in the sky will offer grief relief suggestions and counseling offers, 3) Pet-Loss Grief Counseling via conversational LMM, and from licensed therapists, 4) offer individual, friends, and family memberships, virtual pet adornments, virtual playgrounds, virtual pet funeral services, and other products (too many to list) for owners to demonstrate their love for their lost pets.
