The Story Behind Perspectives.pm

Inspiration The idea for Perspectives.pm was born out of a shared frustration I observed during my professional experiences: teams often had no clear understanding of the company’s strategy. This lack of clarity led to confusion, misaligned efforts, and missed opportunities. I realized that without a way to visualize the big picture, even the most talented teams struggle to stay on track. This inspired me to create a tool to make strategy and project management transparent and accessible to everyone involved.

The Journey of Building Perspectives.pm From the outset, our goal was to make Perspectives.pm as user-friendly as possible. We set out to create a platform that anyone could pick up and use without needing extensive training. To achieve this, we focused on integrating visual tools like mindmaps, which naturally align with how people think and organize information. Continuous feedback from users was crucial, and we iterated constantly to simplify the interface and enhance usability. Every feature we added or refined was done with the end user’s ease of use in mind, demonstrating our commitment to an iterative, user-focused development process.

Challenges and Learnings One of the biggest challenges we faced was distinguishing Perspectives.pm from other project management tools on the market. Many tools offer similar features, but only some focus on visualizing the big picture as we do. Communicating this unique value proposition proved challenging at times. We learned that it’s not just about listing features; it’s about showing how our approach fundamentally changes how teams understand and engage with their projects.

Building Perspectives.pm has been a journey of learning, refining, and overcoming obstacles. It’s a tool inspired by real-world challenges designed to improve teamwork and achieve goals.
