Inspiration

It was for a school project that could be fully functional and not just screenshots

What it does

It allows an author to submit paper that is then peer-reviewed and then given a final decision, giving the decision to be at the conference.

How we built it

HTML, CSS, PHP, SQL,

Challenges we ran into

I had many challenges, like my CSS stopping updating after changing the color of many elements also styling the forms to work as it would not grab the CSS. I had PHP issues as this is my first time deep dive into this language, like errors of naming elements to nothing existing in my databases or HTML elements and having the buttons actually respond to adding data to databases in a correct format. Having constraints was difficult, and having more detailed information for each user was not possible due to time constraints. My ask-question form does not like to update the data in the database or be recognized.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I have created a great framework that I am able to fine-tune with proper constraints in more time. I have learned a new language and was able to use it with great success. I was able to use my course knowledge of SQL and build a beautiful database. I created a login system that does not save passwords in plain text and has multiple types of users.

What we learned

I have learned PHP and form building in a new creative way that I thought was difficult. I was able to use my SQL knowledge in a working database with a beautiful UI. I have learned to create a local server to host my website and database.

What's next for Perspective Conference Management

I wish to continue with more accurate information on the site. I want to be able to submit to only certain conferences and have all reviewer's recommendations be combined into one answer if they all agree to send into chair where they can agree or change answer.
