Inspiration

Personara AI began with a family problem, not a technology project.

When our son graduated, we watched him enter a frustrating cycle of job searching: more applications, repeated CV edits, and generic advice, but very little clarity about where he truly fit or how to communicate his value.

Gallup Strengths 34 assessments provided useful language, but they did not connect his strengths with his experience, achievements, suitable roles, and next steps. We realised that most career tools focus on isolated tasks rather than helping people understand themselves and make better career decisions.

That insight inspired Personara AI.

What it does

Personara AI is a Career Intelligence platform that turns a person’s strengths, experience, achievements, goals, and career evidence into practical guidance.

It helps users:

  • Understand their professional value
  • Identify strengths and transferable capabilities
  • Discover better-fit career directions
  • Evaluate opportunities using evidence
  • Coaches them in their career decisions
  • Create tailored CVs/Resumes, Cover letters and career positioning assets
  • Prepare for interviews
  • Decide what to do next

Unlike a generic AI assistant, Personara builds reusable career context. Each step strengthens the user’s evolving Professional Identity, so they do not have to start again with every application.

The guiding journey is simple:

Evidence → Professional Identity → Career Intelligence → Action

How we built it

We built Personara AI as a guided web platform using Next.js, TypeScript, Supabase, and OpenAI models. We used about 900 prompts in CODEX to create the platform.

OpenAI helps interpret career evidence, identify meaningful patterns, explain opportunity fit, generate evidence-based positioning, and recommend practical next actions. Structured workflows and persistent profile data ensure the experience builds progressively rather than producing disconnected AI responses.

Human judgement remains central. Personara explains its reasoning and supports decisions, but the user stays in control.

Challenges we faced

The greatest challenge was preventing AI from producing advice that sounded impressive but was not supported by the user’s evidence.

We addressed this by grounding outputs in uploaded career material, identifying weak or missing evidence, acknowledging uncertainty, and encouraging users to review important conclusions.

Another challenge was simplifying a complex career journey. Career planning involves identity, positioning, opportunity discovery, applications, interviews, and progress tracking. We learned to organise these capabilities around clear goals and next actions so the experience feels like a guided pathway rather than a dashboard full of tools.

What we learned

We learned that the most valuable role for AI is not simply writing a better CV. It is helping people recognise the value already present in their experience and use that understanding to make better decisions.

Career technology should not replace human agency. It should provide clarity, evidence, and confidence.

Personara AI is our attempt to make Career Intelligence a lifelong capability—helping people understand their value, find where they fit, and move forward with confidence.

What’s next

Continue to build user base, refine the platform, partner with global job boards to add career intelligence to their business models.
