Personality and College Major Questionnaire

Inspiration

The public speaker at the beginning said that once selecting a major, she couldn't choose another major to pursue. This made me think – what major do I want to pursue? I framed my project about this question as exploration, a question I think most other high-schoolers have as well. This relates to exploration as a quiz of self-exploration.

What it does

This is a 20 question questionnaire that suggests a field and college major and displays additional strengths/likes.

How we built it

I provided questions that users answered yes or no to. Topics are initialized and incremented or decremented accordingly depending on the answer. At the end, these topic values are compared for a suggested field, major, if you are introverted or extroverted, and other traits.

Challenges we ran into

I ran into problems with structuring the code and writing so many if/else statements.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of writing a questionnaire that is similar to the ones I see on the internet, like Buzzfeed quizzes.

What we learned

I learned how to handle long stretches of code and the importance of syntax.
