This is my personal website created to show people about ME! I will link this to my resume and continually update it to allow potential employers, family, or whoever to learn about me and my life.

Inspiration

I have seen many people make personal websites to market themselves. In the age of social media and unlimited technology, we have to go out of the box to make ourselves stand out. While other people's websites may look a lot cleaner because of the use of different website creator apps or links out there, I think it is important for people in my field to see that this website was coded completely using HTML.

What it does

This is just a website to show the different aspects of myself. You can look through the different parts to get to learn more about me. Go to link to check it out.

How I built it

I built the website using GitHub Pages and directly edited it using GitHub through Chrome. This was a new process for me as well and I am sure there are better ways to do this, but I learned a lot about GitHub along the way.

Challenges I ran into

I had tried to learn HTML in the summer of 2020, but I had never done any projects without guidance using it. I learned a lot of syntax and methods for coding using HTML.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud of how the website turned out. Specifically how I was able to incorporate so many links to different pages of the website. The buttons at the top of the home back and the links in the footers of the other pages to take the user back to the home page or top of the screen are things I am specifically proud of. Although it may not look like it these took a lot of work through formatting layouts and editing the links.

What I learned

I learned that it is not easy to code in HTML and make your website look exactly how you want it. This is why most people turn to website generators that work like word documents and allow you to edit them very easily. Without people who could code in HTML, these website generators would not be a thing so that is why coding is so important.

What's next for Personal Website Project

I will continually update the information on the website to match what happens in my life. I think the projects section is super important for employers to see what I have worked on. I would like to add more features to the website and make it look cleaner overall, but that will come as I get more ideas on what these features would look like.
