Inspiration
The inspiration for the Spanish Study App came from my need to find an effective way to study for my Spanish test. I wanted a tool that could help me memorize vocabulary efficiently and provide a more interactive learning experience than traditional flashcards. This personal need drove me to develop an app that could benefit other students as well.
What it does
The Spanish Study App provides pre-made sets of digital flashcards for learning Spanish vocabulary. Users can review the flashcards, test their knowledge, and track their progress.
How we built it
I build the app using MIT App Inventor, a visual programming environment for creating Apps. I first focused on designing an easy-to-understand user interface and then focused on programming the app.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge I faced was debugging the code to ensure the app ran smoothly across different devices. This involved extensive testing and fixing various issues that arose during development.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud of creating an app that effectively aids students in learning Spanish vocabulary. The positive feedback from users testing the app regarding its ease of use and effectiveness has been very rewarding. Overcoming the technical challenges and delivering a functional app is a significant accomplishment.
What we learned
I learned a lot about app development using MIT App Inventor, including designing intuitive interfaces and the importance of iterative testing and feedback. I also gained insights into the challenges of debugging and ensuring compatibility across devices
What's next for Spanish Study App
Next, I plan to allow users to customize their vocabulary sets, add text-to-speech functionality, and include a visual representation for tracking progress. These features will make the app more personalized, interactive, and helpful for users.
