Inspiration
I like to be aware of my money but I don't like giving all of my money data to companies for them to give me kinda helpful graphs and selling my data. I started managing money with money Manager EX then moved to a fancy spreadsheet but found both too limiting for one reason or another. I'm also a web development student and like to tinker. So I combined my need for the tool and want to better my skills to bring people together and start on a personal finance manager.
What it does
Right now? It makes a mean database. In the future -- lots more. Follow the GItHub for more.
How I built it
With friends over Discord, caffeine from cans, and little sleep.
Challenges I ran into
Am n00b at SQLAlchemy and React (buy comfy with Python). Its taken me a great deal of time to kinda sorta wrap my head around SQLAlchemy to be useful.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Mean database.
What I learned
Lots about ORMs, project orchestration tools, and teammates musical interestes.
What's next for Personal Finance Manager
This project is important to me and will continue to be something I hack on. I'll likely take it to other hackathons, maybe host one of my own--who knows?
