Inspiration

The majority of people now a days belive in investing and growing money even other than the FDs in bank. But most of the time, they are unable to choose the correct investment options that suits them, as a result they get lower returns or even face loss. A person's income and expediture effects on the savings, that effects the principle for investment and corresponding risk tolerance and reurn rate. Most of the time people, especially middle class and lower middle class families face financial crisis due to this reason. This web page helps them to find the suitable investment options, their risk tolerance, and estimated time range and expected growth.

What it does

The webpage "Personal Finance & Investment Advisor" collects user's age, monthly income, monthly expense, monthly savings and a total savings to analyse the financial stability of the user and give them the amount the should invest in what kind of option, such as equity, bonds, mutual funds, SIPs, crypto etc. It also gives a time horizon that what option should take how much time and gives an estimated growth and diversification srategy for lower risk and higher return.

How I built it

This is a single page web application that is made of

  1. HTML
  2. CSS 3.JavaScript HTML created the basic structure. CSS is used to create an attractive UI and responsive layout. JavaScript applied the financial theories and calculations for diversification, risk management, timeframes, return rates and to give corresponding recommendation. No backend and APIs are used.

Challenges we ran into

  1. Designing meaningful financial recommendations without APIs.
  2. Avoiding unrealistic growth claims.
  3. Translating finance concepts into frontend logic that remains understandable.

What we learned

  1. Frontend based webs can deliver correct decision supports.
  2. Financial Theorems work better with user's personal data.
  3. Rule based pages can provide strong and correct options for user

What's next for Personal Finance & Investment Advisor

Future improvements will include:

  1. Visual charts .
  2. Scenario comparison .
  3. Stock suggestions with fundamental reoprts and charts.
  4. Integration with real time data.
