Inspiration
The app is related to the theme "education". It is an interesting app that makes learning fun by using a periodic table in an application format.
What it does
The Periodic Table App has two screens: main menu and periodic table. The main menu screen contains a button, by clicking it will move to another screen (Periodic Table). The periodic table screen displays the periodic table. The periodic table has 118 elements, so there are 118 buttons where each button represents an element. When you click any element button, it presents the element name, symbol, atomic mass, no of protons, no of electrons, no of neutrons, and properties of that element clicked by the user. This function applies to all elements. It also contains color keys to indicate which elements are metals, non-metals, and metalloids. There is a main menu button, by clicking it will move to the main menu screen.
How we built it
I used MIT App Inventor to create this app.
Challenges we ran into
Sizing the buttons as some of them were not included in the screen during the testing process.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Adding more buttons, presenting and displaying the necessary information for each element.
What we learned
I learnt how to display the information like a pop-up format when a button is clicked.
What's next for Periodic Table App
I would like to implement a quiz game feature related to the periodic table.
