Inspiration

New York City is undeniably a fashion capital, with events like the Fashion Week that bring attention from people around the globe. We believe that looking good helps you feel good. Asking yourself what pants, jacket, and also factor seasons is a colossal task. So we thought that reducing this time-consuming task that every human faces would improve their lives.

What it does

We wanted to combine arts and technology in a new and fascinating way. So we created a website (as an MVP)to suggest outfits based on real-time weather and your personal wardrobe store online. We hope our project is the first step in making your experience dressing up every day seamless.

How we built it

We used React and Firebase to create the form of our website. We also used Firebase and fetch API calls to include our main features.

Challenges we ran into

  • Fetching Google users' data
  • Building algorithmic logic to clothing suggestion
  • Coming up with a visually appealing product

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Overcoming obstacles as a team and learning how to build projects from the ground up. Two out of three team members didn't know React at all, and we were still able to come up with such a product. There was a lot of fear and doubt that sipped through our minds. "Can we learn enough to build such a product in 5 days?", "What if we can't make it? Then were automatic losers." But we supported each other throughout the process. Sharing documentation, articles, and videos to help achieve this vision we had. Now you get to see the result of the sleepless nights we had and we hope you love it, like we do!

What we learned

It's okay to dream big and to be afraid while building. Growing along the way is all that matters.
