Pepemon: Degen Battleground

Inspiration

Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic the Gathering, Hearthstone.

What it does

Pepemon decentralized web3 game complete with it's own DeFi economy and NFT integration for in-game assets.

How we built it

We started writing Solidity Smart Contracts and deployed on Fantom Testnet for testing purposes. Then we started developing an Unity app that consumes the data from Fantom blockchain to show players the results that were determined on chain by the smart contracts. Everything is end2end driven by data on chain, including assets, results and rewards.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Managed to launch a first alpha version already that has a matchmaking working fully on chain.

What we learned

Unity blockchain integration is still nascent but Fantom helps with speedy confirmation time for the transactions so the experience is not that bad.

What's next for Pepemon: Degen Battlegrounds

Creating the Battle Edition Pepemon NFT cards on Fantom chain and rewarding alpha testers with ERC-1155 rewards for their participation.
