People Map

Inspiration

My project was inspired during this coronavirus period. I live in South Africa and we are currently in a Nationwide Lockdown in an attempt to flatten the curve.

Essential services are still open, such as hospitals, pharmacies and supermarkets. When we are in public places, we should try to keep a distance between ourselves and others.

I came up with the idea for this app to provide a quick and easy way for people to check how busy a certain place is before they leave their homes.

What it does

The app displays a map of your area and shows you how busy the places in your area are.

How we built it

We used Googles API to fetch the 'popular times' information and pair it with a location on the map.
