Inspiration
The lack of financial literacy across all generations may have contributed to disadvantageous outcomes, which has great impacts on our mental, physical, and spiritual health. Many people suffer from medical debt, student debt, and other monetary issues, and this can largely be attributed to our lack of financial knowledge and management skills. To change this reality and provide a better pathway for our younger generations, I drew inspiration from apps like Duolingo, learning platforms like JA Connect, and board games like Monopoly, the Game of Life, Payday, and more, to develop the concept of a cross-platform financial literacy app, called PennyQuest.
What it does
This is a no-code concept for PennyQuest. This cross-platform app will empower its users in gaining financial literacy through fun and interactive ways.
How we built it
Using no-code tools, we aim to expand financial literacy to all students with PennyQuest. This submission provides the concept, description, and project proposal for this app.
Challenges we ran into
Researching the scope of the issue, the impacts of financial literacy, and the relevant technologies for this project's development was quite tricky, demanding, and time-consuming.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I think PennyQuest is an amazing concept that can potentially address many worldly issues due to the scope of its capabilities. I researched quite a bit on what would make a learning platform engage and retain its users, and how I could make learning fun, especially to those who are younger students, and I hope I can bring this app to life in the near future.
What we learned
I learned so much about project management and the project development life cycle. I also became how different technologies can be used to create an app.
What's next for PennyQuest
I hope to incorporate additional features that support PenyQuest's mission, develop mockups and designs, and actually put this plan to action!
