Inspiration

A while ago I went to the mall to buy a pair of shoes. My goal at the time was to purchase only the shoes and go home. The associate that helped me checkout my shoes was able to convince me to buy a care kit for the shoes after showing me a pair that had been worn and not treated with the care kit. I'm glad they suggested it because I bought the shoes back in 2020 and they still look fairly new. This is a win win situation for me and the shoe store as I am still pleased with my purchase and they were able to upsell an additional product.

If I would have purchased these shoes online, I would not have gotten the care kit. This made me think of all the missed opportunities for online customers and businesses that aren't able to illustrate the benefits of pairing products.

What it does

Penafi uses 3D models to show a normal wear and tear of a product and potential benefits of buying accessories to extend the life of the product.

How we built it

javascript, three.js, gsap, square checkout API

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Having a working prototype.

What's next for Penafi

Work on more animations to illustrate uniqueness of the product and show what the product would look like with and without use of accessories. Develop more models for diverse use cases.

Additional Notes

Penafi also gives business the opportunity to highlight key details of their product. In my use case for the video, Penafi offers intricate details about the Garoo shoes. This is something that can help a product stand out and improves the checkout experience by educating the customer on the product. Both customers and businesses benefit checkout is a breeze with the Checkout API.
