Inspiration Jampandu AI was inspired by the idea of having a personal Jarvis-like assistant that runs locally, protects privacy, and stays under the user’s control. What It Does Jampandu AI is a portable Windows AI assistant that can run from a USB drive. It supports local AI chat, voice features, media control, safe commands, and approval-based security. How I Built It I built it using Python, PowerShell, batch scripts, AutoHotkey, llama.cpp, and a local GGUF model. The project is designed to work offline and store data locally. Challenges The biggest challenges were making it portable, keeping it secure, handling large local models, and balancing useful automation with user safety. What I Learned I learned how to build a local-first AI assistant with secure approvals, offline model support, voice features, and a privacy-focused design. What’s Next Next, I want to add a better UI, stronger offline voice support, local memory search, and more safe automation features.
