Inspiration
As high schoolers and university students, we often get caught up in studying and find it hard to stay connected with people outside of our class. But what if you could form new friendships and learn at the same time? Introducing PeerUP - a platform to pair you with your perfect study buddy.
What it does
Good in a subject but struggling in another? Find someone who needs help and they can help you back! With PeerUP, the process is simple, reliable, and hassle-free. With our rating system, you can rest assured that you will find a suitable tutoring partner!
How we built it
We built the entire frontend with react, used Firebase to store users and posts, and linked the Magic Matching to the Gemini Flash API for lightning-quick generation and analysis to find compatible partners.
Challenges we ran into
As a group with only two members, we had to take on more work and some features couldn't be fully implemented, such as a messaging system that was originally planned. However, we worked with what we had and instead focused on innovative, new ideas instead of re-implementing what's already been done, adding freshness to our project.
What's next for PeerUP | Study Pairing with Care
In the future, we hope to streamline the user and ranking system, but overall we are extremely pleased with what we managed to accomplish with two members in such a short period of time.
