Inspiration

We not only want an opportunity for students to not only make money but add other job experiences, build resumes, network and see what it means to help a community of everyday tasks and give them a little push in the little things in life. PeerTask is a multi-faceted app and website that brings students together, creates networks and jobs via resumes and tracks money you make and spent.

What it does

PeerTask brings college students together in one ecosystem and have them contract with each other to do jobs on the side along with tutoring, manual labor, and other social services, and also gives them the opportunity to connect/network with fellow students and other students from other schools.

How we built it

React.js and Node.js we used for the backend for logic focusing on the server-side logic, databases, APIs, and architecture ensuring system performance, and Stitch API for frontend development creating the user-facing portion focusing on layout, design and interactivity.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into designing challenges, some code wasn't working, which we are still trying to fix, and we don't have a database yet.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built a demo app, have an embedded AI system that checks if jobs are done if not it will lead to disputes, created an entire network system for college students to connect and at the same time make money.

What we learned

The value of teamwork, and we also were able to build a demo of our app and have features of creating a profile, using a system called "Campus Trust Score" measuring whether the student is very trustful or not, active missions, mission history (mission accomplished), and campus involvement, we also have a hiring section where you can get hired to do side jobs for other students.

What's next for PeerTask

We plan on having the software automatically make ecosystems for numerous colleges and universities across America, so students can automatically pick their school so that they won't have to log in as much and essentially divide that work, have more common jobs, side gigs, and labor, students might need help with, have a database with all the students, their majors, account profiles, reviews, job posts, etc.
