Inspiration

We all know people who got laid off within the past year or so, and understand the stress that comes with it. However, most people don't reach out for resources when they need it, so we wanted to provide an easy way for them to access it.

What it does

Peerspace provides tips and resources tailored to the user's situation (whether unemployed, or looking to manage job-related stress, etc), as well as a social space to vent and learn about the sentiment of peers in their field.

How we built it

We used vanilla Javascript paired with HTML and CSS files, along with Bootstrap, JQuery, and Firebase.

Challenges we ran into

Eliminating distractions in the user flow to ensure that users get access to the resources they need as directly as possible.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Being able to complete an app that mirrors the functionality of our term project in a single day.

What we learned

New Javascript methods, Firebase functionality, Bootstrap modules, new CSS and HTML properties and elements, and quick problem solving within a team with different perspectives.

What's next for Peerspace

We want to revisit the idea after term's end to see if we can build it into an a more fleshed-out app, if only for the learning process.
