🌟 Inspiration
We noticed that students everywhere want to collaborate, not just to finish tasks, but to learn faster. Exposure to diverse ideas and different academic backgrounds creates new ways of understanding and accelerates learning. Students also seek a sense of belonging — a space where they feel part of a team, not isolated in their academic journey. This inspired us to build a platform that makes collaboration organized, global, and meaningful.
🚀 What it does
PEERORA connects students worldwide through public academic posts for assignments, projects, or collaboration requests. Each post includes skills, tags, and deadlines for transparent team‑matching. Once students join a post, they access group spaces, structured discussions, live sessions, a shared Workspace, and an AI assistant that summarizes conversations and extracts action items — helping teams stay clear, fast, and connected.
🛠️ How we built it
Week 1: Problem definition, user‑journey design, prototyping. Week 2: Building core pages, group spaces, channels, and the Workspace. Week 3: Integrating components, refining UX, adding the AI assistant, and preparing the MVP.
⚠️ Challenges we ran into
- Finding teammates early on
- Coordinating schedules across disciplines
- Designing a system that works for both small tasks and large projects
- Building a complete MVP within a tight timeline
- Ensuring clarity inside group spaces
🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Delivering a functional MVP in three weeks
- Creating a clear collaboration flow
- Integrating an AI assistant with real value
- Demonstrating the concept through realistic academic posts
- Supporting both simple assignments and complex projects
📘 What we learned
We learned that structured collaboration dramatically improves learning speed. Diverse ideas enrich understanding, and a shared space builds a sense of belonging that motivates students. Clear documentation and focused MVP scope lead to a more polished product.
🔮 What's next for PEERORA
Launching a pilot with two universities, expanding academic profiles, enhancing AI capabilities, and growing PEERORA into a global collaboration network that strengthens learning, diversity, and academic community.
