Inspiration

The therapeutic technique of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) , which incolved tracking thoughts, moods etc has been an inspiration for the micro-journaling idea. **Coping Card Deck **Popular apps use swipeable interface which is highly engaging and perfect for delivering bite-sized pieces of advice in a fun way. Smooth transitions for a zen-like experience

What it does

The app creates a safe, welcoming environment for mental health support with anonymous peer interaction and personal wellness tracking. It includes Micro-Journal with mood tracking and private reflection, Coping Card Deck with community-shared strategies.

How we built it

Gentle gradients and soft shadows Smooth animations and transitions Mobile-first responsive design React with TypeScript for type safety Local storage for journal persistence

Challenges we ran into

Design-Development Balance: Translating a calming, therapeutic design into responsive React components while maintaining accessibility. Ensuring smooth handling of local storage for journaling and mood tracking.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Built a beautiful, calming design system that supports the app’s mental health mission. Established modular, maintainable code with React + TypeScript best practices.

What we learned

How to build modular, scalable frontends using modern tools like Vite, Tailwind. How to integrate design psychology (colors, typography, spacing) into a wellness app.

What's next for PeerConnect
