Inspiration

My inspiration came from what I was doing without the website. I started bartering goods to my neighbors in exchange for their fruits, vegetables, or other resources. I wanted to continue encouraging others to barter and I managed to get two other friends on board, now they bake bread for their community and in exchange they get their goodies. Now I wanna encourage this to my local communities on a larger scale.

What it does

The website displays a map, within the map it will display local items around that person's area that is being bartered whether that be materialistic goods, or food and other goods. Scrolling down will show popular items, newly added items, and much more. There are no prices, just a button which will allow you to trade or add to your wishlist.

How we built it

We used JS, HTML, REACT, and CSS

Challenges we ran into

Coding, having to figure out to make the images pop out, having to figure out how we're going to integrate a map, how we're going to make transitions into each menu, and much more. Alex honestly did most of the brunt work and he figured it out.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Learning so much about coding, and actually making the website, it looks amazing and I'm proud of us for actually sticking through it and not giving up.

What we learned

More about syntax, structure of the code, linking everything together, and CSS

What's next for Peep This

Hopefully, we can implement this project into a city, or even just in our local communities. We plan on making the code open sourced since people could easily gather their own communities and expand upon this idea.
