Inspiration
What initially started as an idea for simply doing more solitary activities with someone else (i.e. imagine instead of reading a book alone, the app would give you reason to read it with someone else), became what is now known as Peek.
How it works
Peek allows you to glimpse into the daily schedule and life of another person. See exactly what friends and influential people are doing in their time: actually. Peek gives you the means to understand more about other's personal stories and exactly what they do in their lives as well as providing valuable data on what to make of everyone's schedules. Just follow people you're interested in, and peek into their lives. Contribute and post your own schedules as well using speech and audio recognition.
Challenges I ran into
Allowing usage of app without sign-in at first but then allowing users to create an account and sign in (to be able to follow people and post schedules), configuring audio/speech recognition, some graphical hardships.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Doing some data analysis, learning about audio/speech recognition, and working with a diverse team (beginner hacker, experienced hacker, and graphic designer)
What I learned
Sleep becomes pretty important when writing quality code, but if you want something to work/just happen, well.. it can with enough brute-force. Learned about working in a team with different needs and experience levels. Learned some audio recognition and data analysis type work.
What's next for Peek
Graphical Cleanup, Stronger and more robust feature set, Allowing live interactive feed of following a person's day.
