Inspiration
Quick and easy game with simple rules, makes it easy to be built into the controls of the pebble.
What it does
It allows the user to play chopsticks on their pebble with their friends over the internet
How we built it
We used Pebble.js on CloudPebble to build the framework for the watchapp and the GUI. The backend was made using ajax and is run with a Particle Photon and their cloud backend.
Challenges we ran into
Getting the pebbles to post data to the server using ajax, Pebble.js being in beta and not working very well
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Having a working user interface and framework for the game, Getting 2 pebbles to communicate
What we learned
We learned how to build a GUI using Pebble.js, How to set up an AWS EC2 server (Didn't use it eventually), how to build a server to respond to put and get requests, and how to communicate between pebbles (in theory)
What's next for Pebble Chopsticks
Adding a notification ability to be notified when it's the user's turn to play the game, shake to refresh on the home screen, usernames for easy friend adding, and compatibility for Pebble OG and Round.
