Inspiration

We wanted evidence to complain about the unstable internet at uni. We could not find a tool that would display the network speed over an extended amount of time and so we came up with the idea.

What it does

It displays a graph of the internet download speed, as well as displaying the average. You can also take a snapshot of the graph if you want to save the speed.

How we built it

We built the back-end using Javascript and HTML5 to be able to communicate with an external server and obtain the speeds and the front-end with Java, with which we made the client.

Challenges we ran into

We had a lot of issues implementing the Javascript code as well as creating the client.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Using JavaFX for the first time, implementing external JS API to display the graph

What's next for PeaNut

Being able to chose the server depending on location, increase stability.
