My bot is called “pdbot”, short for Pager Duty SlackBot. I currently work in a devops role and we heavily utilize Slack and PagerDuty with a rotating on-call schedule. Often other people at work need to know who is currently on-call and how to get in touch with them. I investigated various PagerDuty and Slack integrations, but I couldn’t find anything that solved these specific problems. So, I’ve written this simple bot to do so. This bot allows you to query the current on-call person and create new Pager Duty events that will reach them, containing text that you send to the bot.
