What it does
Many students struggle with balancing day to day tasks and school. Too much attention on school can decrease time students spend on themselves and vice versa. This can take a huge toll on either the student’s mental health or on their academics. Our project, PsycheMetrics, takes information from the user and generates a report based on the inputted data. This report includes interactive, scalable charts comparing mental wellness to academic success. It then gives the user tips on betterment of academics, productivity, and mental health.
Inspiration
Many of our fellow peers struggle with trying to balance their mental wellbeing and their academics, so we wanted to minimize this by trying to pinpoint their areas of struggle through the report. We want to help these students get some extra help.
What we learned
We strengthened our python skills especially in areas using a certain python library such as Streamlit.
How we built it
We built this entire thing using Python on Cursor.
Challenges
We struggled by trying to stitch out front end and our back end development together, but we were able to do this through Streamlit.
PsycheMetrics in the future
We plan on incorporating this in Richland High School's Hope Squad chapter. Since Hope Squad also focuses on trying to get students the help they need, we thought it would be a good idea for them to use our website for students that may need help. Also, when we are more experienced, we plan on trying to turn PsycheMetrics into an app so it can be accessible for more people.
(We do not plan on turning this into the MCF track).
