Inspiration
After researching about women's health, we were amazed to discover the lack of education surrounding the subject of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Thus, this inspired us to start up our project "PCOS I'm Hungry!", in an attempt to teach women globally about the dietary needs that accompany this syndrome.
What it does
"PCOS I'm Hungry" is a simple game mechanic where the user must make a fit judgement according to the food item presented to them, by placing it in the garbage bin or the plate. After users complete the task, they are informed about the qualities of each food product and why it proves to be good or bad for a PCOS diet.
How we built it
P5.js Matter.js Bootstrap JavaScript HTML
Challenges we ran into
We got a LOT of error messages and bugs at the start. Figuring out how to even create the objects was a huge learning curve, never mind the picking up functionality. Trial and error was pivotal for us in attempting to figure out the shapes and sizes of each food condiment as well as trying to work with constraints for the grapes, signs and sausages. Although extremely tough, we we're determined to push through and get this educational web app out there for people to use.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Working with a new library, Matter.js, for the first time proved to be very difficult - however after persevering, we were able to proudly and successfully showcase our problem-solving abilities by creating a functional app.
